Bear Back Biking is an experienced company owned and operated by two passionate cyclists with 20+ years of combined chalet holiday experience.
WHAT do Bear Back Biking do?
Bear Back Biking are a specialist package holiday provider offering a holiday experience based on quality and value. We strive to provide the best riding experience you can get in Whistler, period.
Our main product, the Whistler Experience is a catered, guided, week long mountain biking holiday package based in a luxury chalet near the shores of Alta Lake, a short ride from the village, bike park and Whistlers trail network.
In additional to our main chalet we offer some of Whistlers best suited townhomes and hotels for ease of access to trails, village and bike park. (secure bike storage always considered)
Trips to the British Columbia interior, Vancouver, Squamish and heli drops are also available as well as special weeks for riders looking for something extra.
Non Riders are also more than welcome! Whistler has so much to offer beyond the biking, if you’re a non rider you will still be kept more than busy, see the other activities page for an idea of what there is to do off the bike.

We are a low volume holiday company who pride ourselves in our focussed guest service. We are here to ensure you have the best holiday possible rather than to simply fill the beds and forget!
A holiday with us is the result of years of experience in the industry catering to the complete cross section of guests. We know that everyone is different and individual's have different needs, demands and expectations. We truly believe that with our experience, we are able to get it right - every time!
Why have we set up Bear Back Biking?
Well, Whistler has been our playground for a many years now, its a damn good one too!
We looked at what Whistler has to offer, who was offering it, and what there is available for visitors coming from the UK.
Whistler needs to be experienced, but the cost of holidays and the planning that previously had to go into organizing a holiday to BC has made riders reluctant to travel to the MTB mecca.
In short, we've addressed this and are bringing you the best Whistler has to offer without the stress of planning, the best experience with value as the key ingredient.
We are also trying to afford ourselves a lifestyle in this amazing post adolescent Disneyland!
The Owners
Mark has managed operations in many resorts across France including the 3 Valleys, les Deux Alpes, and Serre Chevalier, he moved to Whistler in 2000, and not long after, set up Bear Back Biking with Jonny.
Marks winters are spent on the mountain as Ski Patrol.
Mark has a long background on bikes, road racing since the age of 13. Since moving to Whistler attention has turned to mountain bikes where he has ridden some of the epics such as the BC bike race, and the Tour D’Afrique.
Jonny studied Industrial design in Loughborough and spent his summers coming to Canada to ride, on completeing his degree the offer of spending a few more years living the dream proved too much and he became a permanant resident of Canada in 2008. Riding and racing has become one of his greatest passions and he has top three results in most of the Marathon races in BC for his age catagory.
Our Guides
We are fortunate to have an extremely strong guiding staff working with us. We have guides who have spent numerous seasons in Whistler and share the same passion that we do for ensuring that our guests holiday experience is the best that it can be.
