Bike Carriage - Flights
Below is a list of airlines and their bike carriage policies:

British Airways
We will accept all non-motorised bicycles provided they are packed in a recognised bicycle bag.
Preparing bicycles for travel:
bicycle pedals must be removed (or fixed inwards)
handlebars must be fixed sideways
the bicycle must be contained in a protective case or bag
you may wish to deflate the tyres to reduce risk of damage
the majority of non-motorised bicycles comply with maximum dimensions, although all non-motorised bicycles will be accepted
*(Special rules apply for bicycles when departing from Germany or when groups with more than 4 bicycles travel together.)

Canadian Affair
Bicycles
Thomas Cook Airlines charge GBP £30 / CAD $60 (one way). Thomas Cook Airlines advises that bicycles should be packed in a cardboard box or have some protection against damaging other baggage.
Bicycles should be dismantled in the following way:
Turn the handlebars in-line with the frame
remove front wheel, deflate the tyres, and the pedals should be either removed or turned inwards
Bikes should be in a box or have protection against other baggage.
From April 15th 2009 Air Transat charge a GBP £18 / CAD $36 GBP handling fee, each way and on all destinations, for each transported bicycle. An oversized plastic bag is included in the GBP £18 / CAD $36 handling fee, available at the Air Transat check-in counter.
For groups of 10 passengers or more who are travelling with bicycles please contact us in advance as alternate arrangements may be required (additional fees may apply).
Air Canada
Bicycles are accepted on a space available basis only and should be pre-registered at time of booking. Each bicycle counts as one piece of baggage towards the maximum number of checked bags allowed by your fare type.
Bicycles are subject to a $50 CAD/USD handling charge (plus applicable taxes) for carriage on all Air Canada and Jazz flights. The charge applies to one-way flights and for each way of travel on round-trip and multi-segment flights.
If your baggage count (bicycle + number of bags to be checked) exceeds the maximum number of items allowed by your fare type, additional checked baggage charges will apply, in addition to the fixed handling charge.

$30 CA (local currency equivalent) per flight segment

In preparation for travel, the handlebars must be turned sideways, the tires deflated and you must remove the pedals.
Put in a solid bag or box.
You may obtain oversized plastic bags at any Air Transat counter , included in the $30 CA fee (local currency equivalent).

United airlines
Allowance/requirements
Any non-motorized bicycle must be prepared for travel by the customer. United cannot provide tools. Handlebars must be turned sideways, and protruding pedals and accessories must be removed. The bicycle must be contained in a durable, protective case, bag or box.

For tickets purchased on or after October 2, 2008 for travel on or after November 10, 2008:
