June Retrospective

June Retrospective A very busy June has just seemed to zoom by in a flash of mud, roots, rocks and sweat. it has been a while since we have been able to post an update thanks to this particular idiotic author losing his camera. But hey, we are a resourceful bunch and have managed to snap a few over the last few weeks of our guest having a blast in the big boys disneyland (Whistler).

John and Steve were first time visitors to Whistler, traveled from the East Coast of the US to have their first sample of the West Coast loam. While mainly shredding the trails we convinced these die hard XC bandits to try a day of DH in the park, needless to say we have a few more followers in our church of gravity!

Andrew & Bart in post ride party mood. It seems Bear Back Biking international reputation has stayed strong this year with guests so far from Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. It is great to have such a varied mix of people from across the globe all gathering in the same place to revel in a shared passion for all things bike. From Germany, Gabi and Tobi spent two weeks here riding absolutely every moment they had to spare, having conquered many of the classic trails in the valley. They were hard charging and great fun to ride with. Andrew and Bart made the long trip from down under for their first taste of Canadian dirt. As part of a BC road trip they spent a week with us shredding the bike park with a reckless abandon only Aussie's are capable of. The above photo shows the guys in full on party mode at the end of a great 'Phat Wednesday' night, ask them about it sometime!

Chris & Josh, Beaver Pond.....summer is here and it's sweaty.

 

From the UK, father and son ripper's Chris and Josh arrived here on their first international biking holiday, spending their time alternating between the trails and the bike park during the hottest week of the summer so far. Riding nearly every day in 30 Degree heat as you can see from the photo the guys earned their miles. 

We would like to thank all our other guests:

• Pete & Michelle who came from NZ representing the Kiwi's.
• Nick and the lads from Liverpool (Mick, Ross & Scott) who despite a few injuries kept smiling and riding their bikes even in the mud!
• Ted the Shred, legend thanks for the Tequila's.
• Mark, Cormac and Charlie, first time biker's who experienced a bit of everything in a three day taster.
• Martin and Rolf also from Germany started out with some XC and quickly graduated to some Double Black bike park shredding.
• Tsering an XC machine who knocked out the classics for breakfast.
• Mike see you again in a few weeks.
• Matt and Matt the Americans who escaped family life for a week to come ride their bikes.
• And of course Ryan and Emma, the fireman and the police officer who came with more enthusiasm than and child's birthday party sponsored by Red Bull! Great fun for the two weeks they spent with us in the park always riding and smiling, hope you all get to come back to us soon to enjoy some more good times!!
