05/07/07: New Property - Location Location Location
We added a new property to our 'on request' portfolio. Northern Lights is situated just above the Westin Hotel and you can ride into the development from A-line - yes - virtually downhill all the way from the park!
In the morning its a roll down the hill with just a handful of pedal strokes to get to the chairlift!
The property is great for groups and available on request and would need a minimum group of 6 people to make it work as a half board catered option.
The Northern Lights property is perfect for the downhill crowd, but those of you looking for an XC based experience should stick to our luxury property the Black Bear chalet.
20/05/07: New Sponsors - Pedros and Yakima
Following up from both pre and post Sea Otter conversations, we are proud to help spread the Pedros love in Whistler. An array of stands, tools and bike care products will complete the workshop in true pimp fashion. Visit Perdros Tools for their full range of kit.
Yakima are also on board to help us move bikes about where needed with ease and style.
The hookup looks to be the lightest and most compact of the hitch mount bike racks out there at the moment and life is about to become so much easier with this gear!

29/04/07: National Bike Show - NEC Arena
Another UK show this time the 'resurected' NBS. A relatively quiet show that still brought us the opportunity to speak with plenty of people about our fantastic holidays on offer. Thanks for stopping by, we'll see you out here!
13/04/07: Sea Otter Classic - Laguna Seca - Monterey CA
A long road trip in the WCFG fun bus brough us and our bikes down to California for the Sea Otter Classic. A 4 day event including huge expo and literally hundreds of races.
We took pleasure in informing most people who stopped by exactly where Whistler is, whats its all about and what we do.
Managed to squeeze some fantastic riding in whilst we were on the road too!
07/12/06: Christmas comes early - Fox Racing Shox 2007
A huge thanks to Elayna at Fox Racing Shox for sending out our Christmas presents early again this year! We'll call it the '12 forks of Christmas'
We are all super stoked to be working with the "Fantastic Fox" again for 2007 and look forwards to the rest of our gear arriving from our other top flight sponsors so we can while away the winter blues by building up our 07 bikes :) !

05 - 08/10/06: London Cycle Show.
After the great experiences we had at last years Cycle Show at Excel in London, we decided to head back over there again this year with an improved presence to reflect how we are developing as a company.
Once again we joined forces with the West Coast Freeride Guides to bring you the combined offerings from both companes under our umbrella of BCmountainbike.com and made stand L11A our home for the 4 days.
The show, whilst clearly not as busy as last years event was still a great way for us to meet people and put our name out there and reinforce ourselves as the best resource to approach when planning a holiday to Whistler.
A big thanks to everyone we spoke to for stopping by, we look forwards to welcoming many of you out to Whistler in the near future! Cycle Show 2006.

We have popped up a 2007 holidays page to let you know what is happening for next year. We are currently offering 2007 bookings at our great value 2006 rates.. get them while they're hot!
18/08/06: 2007 Flights and Holidays.
Zoom have published their summer 2007 flight prices so book thm now and pick up a deal for next year. It seems like an ideal time to offer a repeat of the 'book early' offer we had last year wheeby if you book before the end of this year you can book at this years fantastic value prices for summer 2007!
09/08/06: WORCA Info Page.
We have just added a page about the local bike club, WORCA and some more depth on the drive and focus of the resort.
WORCA is a fantastic asset to the riding community and we feel they deserve recognition for their superb efforts.
07/07/06: Fi'zi:k Saddles.
We are proud to add Fi'zi:k saddles to ou rlist of sponsors. Suzette at Fi'zi:k has given us all a Nisene HP for one of our bikes and we ook forwards immensely to the arrival of the secong saddles to complement our other bikes. I'm shooting for a Gobi for the Ranson as I race the bike at present so it should suit perfectly. Fi'zi:k Saddles
02/08/06: Tourism Whistler Membership Approved!
Bear Back Biking are now officially Tourism Whistler's only Mountain Biking holiday provider member. In short, we have been recognised by Tourism Whistler as a deserving company fit for affiliate membership with the organization!

This means that they feel that we offer a significant benefit to the promotion of Whistler as a summer resort destination and that we complement all of their other members.

Great news and a big thanks to Heather and the team at TW for understanding and believing in what we offer to the resort and our guests.
14/04/06: Lake Cycling - Shoe Sponsor

Well, the season is starting up and things are looking pretty good in Whistler right now. There are still plenty of spaces left for both May and June and consequently we are offering the following specials:
May arrival bookings are subject to a 15% discount
June arrival bookings are subject to a 10% discount with and additional 5% for groups of 4 or more.

27/03/06: Additional Property!
Well, having become booked out for July back in mid February we have spent the last few weeks looking for an additional property for this busy period that fits our expectations for high quality luxury accommodation.
We are pleased to announce that we have taken on a second six bedroom property to cater to the booking enquiries that are coming in for July.
More details of this additional chalet will be up here just as soon as we get some photos that really do the chalet justice.
09/03/2006: Zoom Savings!
Our sales contact at Zoom has been super helpful again and set us up with a 5% saving for our guests. All you have to do is enter our promotion code on the front page of the Zoom Airlines website and you are good to go - every little helps!
12/02/2006: More Exciting News!
We received our first framesets through from Scott USA a few weeks ago and since then have been lucky enough to confirm that Race Face Performance products will also be providing us with the finishing kit for our frames.
We are very proud to be associated with these fantastic companies and would like to thank them all for their support!
15/12/2005: Its been far too long!.
Approaching 4 months since we last popped an update on the site I felt it was about time I said something. Things are moving along well and we are in the process of lining up sponsors for '06 including Dakine, Kenda tyres, Fox Racing Shox, Magura brakes and hopefully within weeks a very exciting frame sponsor.

As far as our holidays go, there are only a couple of weeks left until the 2005 prices offer runs out. So if you are thinking of booking for 2006, you could be saving yourself 15% by booking before the 31st December.
22/08/2005: BC Mountain Bike.
We have cemented our working relationship with the West Coast Freeride guides by pooling our resources and bringing together our products. We are set to attend the Bike Show at Excel in London together and have put together an easy portal into both companies called BC Mountain Bike. It is a quick way to see the riding experiences that we both offer without all the fuss... the info you need...no B.S.!

22/07/05: WhatMTB Diary. Well, we have the oportunity to showcase our product to the guys at WhatMTB magazine so that we can try and inform the readers that Whistler is a place to ride XC, not just park! Check out the diary here!
19/07/05: Weather is back on top! Over the last month, the weather has not been typically that expected of a summer in Whistler. The bike park has been lots of fun in the wet and the XC trails have been superbly maintained so there has been no detrement to the riding at all.
The sun is however back out at full power and the trails are drying out very quickly.
Its looking pretty good for the near future!
18/07/05: Wow, its been a while! We can only apologise that there has been nothing added to the updates over the last few months! We've been busy with guests ensuring they have had a great time in resort, sorting out new partnerships for next year and doing lots of house keeping and maintainance throughout the site.
Info on the site is being added to all the time so keep your eyes peeled.
We have been adding to our image library, riding all those places we need to to ensure you get the info you need, and making sure that our product is still the best available in Whistler!

13/04/05: Flight info. It turns out that Air Transat offer a cheaper alternative to Zoom Airlines for low cost airfares to Vancouver. They offer services from Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow. Bike transport is FOC too. Check out Air Transats UK sales site Globespan.
08/04/05: Price and info emails. I've been busy sending out emails to those of you that wanted extra information after chatting at The Bike Show. If for some reason you haven't recieved the information you asked for, please let me know by emailing me .
It seems that some of my emails have slipped through some mailbox filters!
07/05/05: Bike Park Opening. We have it from a very reliable source that the Bike Park will be open 5 days a week - Wednesdays through Sundays from April 9th!!! Fantastic!
Watch out for all that new snow... great for the end of season skiing though!
04/04/05: The Bike Show. Well, back in the office after an exhausting weekend at the Bike Show. Missed out on some perfect riding weather, but it was great to meet so many people.

15/03/05: Bike Patrol are circulating rumors that the Park will be open for weekends in April and running weekdays too during May! We will confirm this when the well oiled Whistler-Blackcomb machines gives it the official nod!
